OM Abet Suhaian YE4FNN is an experienced HAM operator since the early 1980s and currently acts as the Expedition Director. For 4 terms until 2022, he served as the ORARI District Chief in Bangka Belitung. Presently, he holds the position of Chairman of the ORARI Bangka Belitung District. He frequently takes part in both international and local contests and has been recognized as an A1 operator by ARRL. Whenever feasible, he prefers to operate in CW mode.
Wow, let me tell you about OM Anton Iriawan YB5QZ! He's been a member of ORARI since 1981 and has achieved some incredible accomplishments. In 2009, he became the ARRL Top 1 DXCC Honor Roll holder and has since accomplished 8-Band DXCC, 5-Band WAZ, DXCC HR for Mixed, Phone, CW and Digital modes. Recently, he added the 6-meter Band DXCC, IOTA 700 islands, DX Marathon Top Oceania from 2019 - 2023 to his list of achievements. He's also an active IOTA Chaser and has embarked on various IOTA Expedition as an activator such as to Lingga Island, Anambas Island, Bintan Island, Karimata Island, Natuna Island and Banggai Island. And if that wasn't impressive enough, he's also earned over 500 awards!
OM H.R. Ginanjar Taufiq, S. IP, M.Si, YB0GIN, is an experienced operator with expertise in Phone and Digital modes. He has held different positions at ORARI, including ORARI North Jakarta District Chief from 2013 to 2016. Currently, he oversees Amateur Radio Activities at ORARI HQ, coordinating a range of IOTA, POTA, SOTA and iBOTA activities, as well as special event ORARI awards like the Jakarta Anniversary Special Call Award.
YL Hj. Sahara Sultan YB0SHR joined ORARI in 1994, originating from the Bangka Belitung province. She has been engaging in ORARI expeditions and fulfills the role of one of the Net Control Station operators for the ORARI Net YH0ONN on the 40 meters band in Phone mode. Additionally, she is involved in the YL Operators Community. YL Sahara's main emphasis will be on operating in Phone and Digital modes.
YL Riyani Lieda (Jilly), known as YB1JYL, became a member of ORARI in 1989. She currently holds a position at ORARI HQ, overseeing the YL Operators Community. Jilly actively takes part in contests and special event calls, with a particular interest in Phone and Digi modes. Moreover, she actively participates in a range of expeditions such as IOTA, POTA, iLOTA, iBOTA, and Light House activities, predominantly using phone and digital modes. She also serves as the President of the Indonesian Young Lady Contesters Community (YLCI).
YL Tia Atiah YB1TIA became a member of ORARI in 1996. From 2003 to 2006, she served as the Vice Chief of ORARI Serang Chapter, Banten. She has participated in numerous IOTA Expeditions, such as those to Rakata Island OC-262 & Liwungan Island OC-237. Lately, she has been actively involved in Summits on the Air (SOTA) as an activator and has been recognized as one of the top participants in the 2022 WRTC in YB and Oceania. Additionally, she dedicated many years to ORARI as an examiner specializing in the CW mode.
Since becoming a member of ORARI in 1984, OM Djoko Marjono Susilo YB1TJ has been actively engaged in both local and international competitions, earning the prestigious 9-Band DXCC (160 - 10 meters) accolade. Throughout the years, he has assumed various leadership roles within the ORARI South Tanggerang district and remains a dedicated supporter of AMSAT - ID projects. Furthermore, he actively participates in multiple IOTA and AMSAT expeditions. Currently, he holds the position of Head of Operations and Technology at ORARI HQ.
OM Djojo Nusa YB0NSI became a member of ORARI in 2006 and has been actively participating in local and international competitions on the HF Bands, with a primary focus on Phone modes. He has received a 7-Band DXCC award certificate, as well as WAZ and WAS certifications. From 2016 to 2019, he held the position of Vice Chief at the ORARI West Jakarta chapter. Currently, he serves as a Special Advisory staff member for the ORARI Jakarta District. In 2013, he led an expedition to Damar Besar Island OC-177 and WLOTA LH-2749, winning the prestigious Best WLOTA Award that year.
Wow, we are thrilled to introduce OM Hariyanto YB0MWM, who has been a passionate member of ORARI since 1984! He is a true expert in HF bands and has been actively participating in DX using various modes, making him a well-known contestant in Indonesia. With over 300 DXCCs under his belt, he has earned the prestigious 8-Band DXCC award, as well as WAZ and WAS honors. His main focus is operating in Phone and Digital modes, and we can't wait to see what he achieves next
OM Suryono P. Adisoemarta YD0NXX began his journey as a passionate SWL and became a member of ORARI in 1987. Throughout the 1990s, he remained active while pursuing his post-graduate education at the University of Texas in Austin, USA, continuing at Texas Tech Univresity, operating under the call sign N5SNN. He was the Vice President of UTARC (University of Texas Amateur Radio Club) while at UT Austin, and was the Faculty Advisor for ARSAT (Amateur Radio Society at Texas State Tech). While working at Texas Tech University. he has actively participated in and served as ORARI Jakarta District (ODJ) Head of Operations and Technology from 2008 to 2012. He also became a team member of AMSAT - ID interacting with LAPAN (the Indonesian Aerospace Agency) in designing and testing the LAPAN A2/ORARI satellite, in which the amateur payload became known as IO-86 (Indonesia OSCAR 86) satellite. In 2016, he became involved with the student satellite project at Surya University that was known as SuryaSat-1 (SS-1) that was launched in January 2023. Currently at ORARI HQ, he served as Head of Satellite Communications division.
OM Dadang Darwis YB0ANV joined ORARI in 1985. Originally from Central Java, he moved to Jakarta later on. Renowned for his proficiency in CW operations, OM Dadang regularly participates in both local and international contests under his previous call sign, YB2EUZ. Additionally, he is actively involved in IOTA Expeditions to distinct islands such as Anambas Island OC-108, Tunda Island OC-237, and Panjang Island OC-237. For the upcoming expedition, his main operating mode will be CW.
OM Karunya Saka Listianto YD2UWF joined ORARI in 2019 and is actively engaged in JOTA-JOTI events, driven by his enthusiasm for scouting. He also participates in local and international competitions and serves as the NCS for YH2UE. In 2023, he demonstrated his skills in Phone Mode and Satellite Communications while representing YB Land at the 25th World Scout Jamboree in Sae Man Geum, South Korea. During the same year, he achieved a milestone by becoming the youngest speaker at the ORARI IO-86 SSTV Event, a quinquennial gathering.
OM Endang Setyawan YE4LWU joined Orari in 2020 and has been an incredibly active member ever since, especially in DXing in various modes. He has even achieved DXCC 100 countries and is now passionately involved in AMSAT ID Satellite communications. Not only that, but he generously shares his knowledge in making antennas for satellite comms and currently serves as Secretary to ORARI Bangka Belitung District. We are honored to have such accomplished and dedicated member in our community!
OM Wandi Riswandi YC1RIK became a member of ORARI in 2019! Since then, he has been passionately involved in various IOTA Expeditions, including Sangiang Island OC-237, Java's Coastal Islands, and Liwungan Island OC-237 in Banten. His dedication and enthusiasm for amateur radio are truly inspiring! He would operate mainly in Phone mode.
OM Budi Santoso YE1AR has been a member of ORARI since 1987 and is an accomplished DXer. He holds 8-Band DXCC, DXCC Challenge 1500, RSGB Marathon Plaque, and RRC Best IOTA Plaque. With experience operating from over 50 islands and 20 lighthouses, he is a highly skilled professional in his field. Currently, he serves as the Community Activity Head at ORARI HQ and is the current President of the largest DX Club in YB Land, that is YBDXPI. He is also the pilot for our upcoming Ketawai expedition for DXers outside of the USA.
We are also excited to announce that OM Martinus Jap YB2LSR has decided to join the team! With over 30 years of experience as an active DXer, mainly in CW mode, he has achieved the impressive 5-Band DXCC holder status. Not only that, but he has also participated in World Class contests such as CQ WPX and CQ WW for many years, serving as an operator, Contest Operating Director, and Log checking officer in the multi-single, multi-two, and multi-multi categories. We are truly honored to have him on board with us and know that he will be an outstanding Operating Director for our expedition, ensuring top-notch final Log checking. Welcome to the team, Martinus!
