Get ready for an exciting adventure! The Ketawai Island IOTA Expedition is coming your way! Located in Bangka Belitung Province, Indonesia, this island is designated as IOTA No. OC-144, Locator oi37dr, CQ Zone 28, and ITU Zone 54. From July 25th to 29th, 2024, a team of YB Hams would embark on an incredible journey to Ketawai Island.
The island is only about 13 Kilometers from Kurau Village in Central Bangka Regency. The village is only about 35 kilometers away from Pangkal Pinang, the Provincial Capital of Bangka Belitung. It will take about one hour by boat to reach Ketawai. It is about 35 Hectares in size and is mainly uninhabited. With its clear waters, it is a great place to do snorkeling and fishing.

Let's have fun and share with us the exciting adventure to Ketawai. The Expedition Special Call Sign is 7E4K! We'll be operating on HF bands ranging from 40 meters to 10 meters, including the WARC bands, using Phone, CW, and Digital modes. Plus, we'll be conducting activities on Low Orbit, Medium Orbit, and Geostationary Satellites. The team will be arriving in Pangkal Pinang on the 25th of July by air. Join us on Friday the 26th of July at about 03:00 UTC when we arrive on the island by boat and go on air at 06:00 UTC until July 29th at 01:00 UTC. With more than seven stations QRV on the HF and Satellite Bands, this is an opportunity you won't want to miss!
